A/B Urine Sample Kit (DTC3)
This A/B Sample Kit (DTC3) is used for the safe storage of athletes’ urine and the secure transport of those samples between the collection point and the laboratory and features Medical Grade (PETG) Plastic Bottle Containers that store and protect urine samples safely. Our Plastic Urine Bottles comply with the International Standards of Testing & Investigations.
A/B Sample Kits are delivered in tamper-evident outer canisters using our patented, once-only locking mechanism and an advanced DNA marker to identify a ‘genuine’ tamper-evident product. Each A/B Sample Kit contains two 100ml capacity bottles that can freeze to -80 degrees and thaw over 3 cycles. The two colour-coded security canisters with lids are uniquely numbered to allow for an anonymous record of the athlete sampling and numbers are laser etched into the container materials to prevent tampering.
Once closed, the security canister cannot be opened without showing visible evidence. Our canister is independently tested and certified by a worldwide authority in transportation security. The athlete and the Doping Control Officer can be guaranteed that the Urine A/B Sample Kit is:
- Secure and tamper evident, as independently tested. “It was not possible to access the canister without showing signs of tampering.”
- Uniquely numbered to ensure the anonymity of the provider as per the WADA ‘ISTI’ guidelines.
- Double skinned, two layers of security making it even more difficult to access the sample.

locking mechanism and unique serial identification
numbers for tamper-evident security. Each Kit Is Uniquely Numbered With Matching Numbers On All Kit Components and a Corresponding Barcode On the Canister Body.
It can accommodate a blood sample tube of up to 11ml, which is visible at all times. At the laboratory, the Kit can be placed directly into centrifuges, and can also be frozen at -80°C.
This Kit is durable and lightweight and is security tested to guarantee complete tamper evidence.
The security containers are closed by simply clicking the lid into place. The blood sample is now protected against tampering and can be safely transported to the laboratory. A small watertight bag is supplied containing an absorbent pack.
The Kit is opened at the laboratory by breaking the tamper-evident lid. This can be achieved with the aid of an Opening Tool. Replacement lids are also available for re-sealing security containers in the laboratory. A range of blood sample collection kits is available for your convenience.

Supplied in a small card box, each Kit contains two security container bases and two lids. Color-coded red and blue for A and B samples, each Kit is uniquely numbered with matching numbers on all Kit components and a corresponding barcode on the canister body. Labels printed with matching barcodes and numbers are supplied and can be affixed to the Vacutainer® (supplied separately).

The Urine Kit opening tool is made easy with two, lever handles for twisting and rotating the canister lid from its base. The tool is designed to carefully open the canister without affecting the bottle inside while ensuring complete breakage so that the canister cannot be resealed covertly. It also features a holster for the DNA scanner for a streamlined opening process.
EASE-OF-USE TO THE CORE
The Urine Opening tool is designed for ease of use while ensuring integrity and validity when processing the samples. Once placed in its holster the DNA scanner can quickly determine whether genuine kits are being opened. The two handles make it effortless to turn and destroy the lid of the canister and access the sample bottle.
The only way to open Doping Control’s security containers is to break the container. This shows obvious damage – it is not possible to access the sample contained within the container without showing obvious signs of tampering.
